This filly is a yearling and will turn three on the first of August. She was to be sold at the recent Melbourne Premier yearling sales in March but failed to reach her asking price of $50,000 and was passed in at $45,000. I inspected her at the sales and was most taken with her, but as we were in the early stages of setting up our club, I was not in the position to bid on her. She was taken home to Glen Eden agistment farm and several shares have been sold in her. We have acquired a major share and she will race in our club colours. She is an early foal (6 August 2006) and would have been one of the last foals sired by the great stallion Rubiton.

This filly was bred and offered by our director Martin O’Connor who has kept a share in her as well. Martin imported Denise Margaret, a two times winner in the UK, from Ireland, and the mare went very close to winning in Melbourne in her brief racing career here.

This is Denise Margaret’s first foal. She will be going to the David Hayes’ property at Euroa for the breaking-in and educating – for a period of about six weeks. This filly has a stout pedigree and will not be rushed. After her breaking-in period she will return to Glen Eden to mature and develop. She will most certainly be seen at her best at three years. She is a lovely filly with an excellent nature and she will be a great addition to our club.
